The existence of a pimple does not always mean that you have acne. The existence of numerous pimples also does not mean that acne exists. Sometimes, a pimple is just a pimple. Sometimes, a pimple or a cluster of pimples is more than just a pimple or acne.
First, it could really just be a pimple. The pimple is caused by excess oil, in most cases, and should clear up in a few days or in less time if it is properly treated. If you get a simple pimple, just make sure that you start cleaning your skin better to remove all excess oil.
Beyond a simple pimple, there are two other conditions that can look like acne. One is called Pseudofolliculitis. This is often referred to as razor rash, or sometimes razor bumps. It may also be referred to as an ingrown hair, and is most common with men who shave, and typically occurs in the neck area. Unlike facial hair, the hair on the neck tends to curl, even when it is very short.
When a man shaves, he generally shaves his throat area, and these curly hairs are cut close to the skin, where they proceed to continue growing down into the skin. This produces what looks like a pimple. If this happens often, the man may need to shave less often, as there is no other prevention for this.
Another problem that may appear to be acne is Rosacea. Most people only associate Rosacea with facial redness and flushing, however pimples can also occur, usually in the center of the face. People who are affected by Rosacea are typically in their thirties or forties. What people who have Rosacea won’t find in those pimples on their face are blackheads and whiteheads – unless they also have acne.
Common skin rashes, caused for a variety of reasons, could also appear to be acne. Acne, however, rarely itches or burns. A rash, on the other hand, does itch and burn. Rashes can be very minor or very severe, and it is a good idea to figure out what caused the rash, and of course to properly treat the rash.
As you can see, not all pimples are acne, and not all pimples are just pimples. If you’ve never suffered from acne, but suddenly have what looks to be an acne breakout, it is a good idea to visit your doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

How To Stop Stress-Induced Acne

Zits and pimples are unfortunately a fact of life and they are part of many different people's lives all over the world. People everywhere are looking for quick fixes and answers to their acne problems that will actually give them the results they want instead of more false promises from defective mainstream acne treatment products. The number of companies that advertise products that don't really work is staggering and you should be aware of that before you spend your money freely on things that won't really do that much for you. How to get rid of zits at home is easier than you think.

You can use a lot of different ingredients to zap those zits on your face or anywhere else on your body. The great thing about home remedies is that you can use them for all parts of your body and pretty much any type of acne. Home remedies especially apply to acne vulgaris, which is considered to be the most common and easily treatable type of acne, is the type it works best for. You probably already have the ingredients for most home cures/remedies in your kitchen, specifically the fridge. If you find you have any spare fruit lying around like oranges or cucumber that are going bad, you can grind them up into a fine paste.

Once you have done this, you can make a facial scrub or mask out of the paste. You should apply the paste to whichever areas on your body are effected by the acne and leave it on for around 20 minutes so it can soak in and cleanse your pores. The reason that you have acne in the first place is that your pores become clogged by excessive amounts of oils in the skin usually caused by a hormonal imbalance. This is why we see acne mostly commonly in teenagers and women who are pregnant.

Stress may be causing your acne to get worse. Stress acne is usually a familiar scene among the teenagers and working adults. Teenagers always get worried about things like academic results, teachers, acne itself and so on while the working adults face tremendous pressure in their workplace. If you have stress-induced you can effectively treat the condition by just relieving the stress that you have.
The key here is to relieve stress that you have and you will get your shining bright skin without acne back. Some of the best ways you can use to treat stress acne will be discussed here. Firstly, make sure you get 8 hours of sleep, if not more. Without an adequate amount of sleep, you tend to get more irritable and restless and in this state, you are easier to get stressed about something insignificant. Sleeping also reduces the stress built up over the day and improves the immune system of your body.
The second way to treat stress acne is by using aromatherapy. Aromatherapy comes in several methods. You can use essential oils, an incense stick or a spa to calm and relax your mind and soul. But keep in mind that aromatherapy is not suitable for other kinds of acne. You can use aromatherapy to treat stress acne for its calming effects.
Do you know that by doing what you enjoy doing is also a great way to reduce stress? When you feel stress in the day, take a time out and have fun. Play some games, exercise or do whatever you enjoy doing. It sure is one of the best ways to reduce stress. Listening to music is also very effective at reducing stress. Just make sure it is not music with a scattered and noisy background. Other effective ways to reduce stress include meditation, yoga and hypnosis.

4 Ways to Remove Acne – Fast!

Consider cheaper, alternative, natural, effective treatment methods to get the best care for and clear up your acne, zit, pimple or blackhead problem; and coconut oil is the best treatment I've found. Yes, you can do it -- look better, feel better, and raise your self-esteem by getting rid of your acne cheaply, naturally and for good. While most forms of acne are merely troublesome or embarrassing, there are some forms of acne that can lead to scarring and pitting of the skin.

People of all races and ages have acne. Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, affecting more than 40 million people. Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. For most people, acne goes away by age 30, but people in their forties and fifties still suffer from acne.

Experts just can't agree on what causes acne. Acne, zits, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and many other skin disorders are usually, but not always, the result of a bad diet. I think the cause of acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory 'standard American diet' (SAD) and that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones.

Since the latest research indicates a connection between stress and acne, make an effort to cut down on stress any way you can. One treatment method some people have used is applying cornstarch, egg whites or milk of magnesia as a facial mask. When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin.

There are many natural acne home remedies; you may have to try several to find one that works best for your skin type. Shave carefully and try both electric and safety razors to see which works best for you. For the best acne treatment, which has worked for many, apply virgin coconut oil to the area daily; try it on a small test area for a day or two first.

It's always best to seek non-invasive and natural treatment for any skin condition. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it isn't already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment. No over-the-counter creams can help your acne from the inside out; they can only kill some of the bacteria on your face and help reduce the redness.

Besides acne, if you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions too. Most commercial cleansers are harsh on the face and trying to find the right one for you could cost a fortune. You want to avoid squeezing, pinching, picking or popping your pimples because it can cause scars or leave dark spots on your skin.

Coconut oil is very inexpensive; it's a good, cheap, natural home remedy. Coconut oil is one of the best, if not the best, treatments I've found for acne. Apply it daily, throughout the day if possible and at bedtime. Get the unrefined, unbleached type found at health-oriented food stores like Whole Foods or Wild Oats or order it online.

In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it's chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet alone will be the best treatment you can do for your acne and you'll achieve overall good health in the process. Drink lots and lots of pure, filtered water every day. Besides external acne treatment it's even more important to work from the inside out too.

Some alternative doctors recommend eating a raw clove of garlic daily for acne; you can chop one up and add it to your daily salad! Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne.

Eating fruits that are red or orange in color will help improve you skin health and help to prevent acne. Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, fresh or dried fruit, such as dates, and figs. Use olive oil with a little very fresh flaxseed oil in your salads.

Drink plenty of pure, filtered water, a minimum of a quart a day. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin or acne.

Now you don't have to be one of the unlucky ones left behind because of a lack of knowledge. And you should be able to get rid of your acne, zits and pimples and their symptoms so it doesn't reoccur. There are many acne products on the market today, some are good, some are cheap and some are not good or cheap; no one knows but you what will work for you.

2. If you still have several days or even a week before that big date, you may want to try using the more natural acne remedies. Try eating more vegetables and fruits. You can also try to do relaxing activities and avoid getting stressed as stress is one of the leading factors of acne. Keep your face clean and avoid touching your face with your hands or anything that is dirty. Steer clear of junk foods and fatty foods too.
3. Check out over-the-counter acne treatments that are available. Some of them can get rid of acne overnight and some can cover up the acne. Before picking the kind of acne treatment you are going to use, keep in mind that they are designed by skin type and severity of acne. Choose the right acne treatment that is right for the type of skin you have and how severe your acne condition is.
4. If your acne decides to show up a day or hours before the big date, or if you’ve run out of ideas to clear the blemish in time, use make up to cover up the acne. However, make sure that you choose the right make up for your skin. Avoid oil-based cosmetics. Go with mineral- and water-based make up because this will not further aggravate the acne.

This happens most often because of a hormonal imbalance in the body, which is exactly which women who are pregnant as well as adolescents are most often affected.

The skin on your back tends to be much thicker than the skin on your face, so you will want to buy products that advertise themselves as being all-purpose skin cleansers, not just for the face. Many mainstream acne treatment products are just facial scrubs or masks, intended for the skin just on your face. Vitamins play a very important role in our daily life and deficiency of essential vitamins can cause numerous diseases from Parkinson’s to heart problems. While a number of vitamins are essential for your skin,
have a very close relationship. This article discusses how lack of vitamin A can lead to acne lesions and what precautions are necessary while using vitamin A for acne treatment.
According to published scholarly researches, vitamin A has the potential to control or affect the various stages that lead to the development of acne. Firstly, inappropriate discarding of skin cells occurs during acne. These skin cells can clutter and block the pores, which eventually results in oil (sebum) getting trapped inside and facilitating development of acne. Vitamin A has the ability to enhance removal of these skin cells so they won’t get cluttered around the pores.
Another published research found that lack of vitamin A would also result in inflammation of acne. In addition to this, it would worsen the inflammation in case it already exists. This is due to the close relation between acne and vitamin A present in blood cells. In short, this essential vitamin makes the skin stronger, prevents development of acne, and helps reduce inflammation in worst cases. Accutane is a common prescription treatment given for acne cure and it primarily consists of vitamin A.
But it’s not all good news with vitamin A. It has been found that excessive consumption of Accutane can prove to be harmful for your skin at the end of the day. For example, several individuals who used this treatment have given accounts of skin irritation, redness and dryness. To be on the safe side, it is not recommended to use benzoyl peroxide creams while you are on prescription medicines based on vitamin A, because acne creams consisting of benzoyl peroxide also have the tendency to cause dryness. So a combination of both these treatments results in a very high risk of skin dryness. In addition to this, you should not use vitamin A medications during pregnancy.
Rather than getting acne and worrying about treatment later, it is always the best thing to prevent it in the first place. To be safe, you can consume a diet rich in vitamin A like eggs, milk and liver. And if you feel you are short of vitamins, you can take a good quality multivitamin supplement. But always consult a doctor before consuming large doses of vitamin A for acne treatment.

Natural Acne Remedies

I suffered with acne for many years. I can honestly say that there isn't much in this world that can put off the opposite sex than a face full of zits. I had them on my back too - how sexy is that?

Then it came to my quest for self improvement getting rid of my acne was in the top ten. I lacked confidence anyway and was also very shy as a young man so my chances of getting positive attention from the opposite sex was slim anyway. And with a face full of acne my chances were almost zero.

I had some success with the opposite sex but not as much as I wanted. And so I spent a small fortune on various acne treatments. I read countless women's magazines that contained skin care articles. I went to my GP and was given antibiotics (?) which softened the harshness of my acne. I incorporated all the wives tales and other generalized advise into my daily routine such as washing hair regularly to prevent the spread of oil and avoiding all sugary foods. Some had a mild positive effect but none gave me what I wanted...

I wanted to find a method whether it be medical or otherwise that would hold my acne completely at bay.

As I grew older my acne subsided somewhat but I was still prone to the occasional outburst of facial acne. I had begun to give up and accept that acne would probably always be a part of my life.

And then I found out about a method discovered by Houa Yang. A method that was so simple yet so effective. No medicines or ointments were necessary. It was simple to implement and produced the outcome I had been searching for so long. My acne had completely disappeared.

Over a year later and I can count the amount of spots I've had on one hand.

I can't recommend Houa Yang's method highly enough if you have acne and you are looking for the best acne treatment.

Burdock Root, a Natural Acne Treatment – Part 2

I've heard many people say that treating acne at home is difficult and that most home remedies are simply ineffective when compared to to conventional, pharmaceutical treatment programs. However, I say "rubbish" to that! Today I am going to show you three easy ways to treat acne at home and explain why these remedies are so effective.

How much water do you drink a day? Probably not enough is the most likely answer, but why is water so important for the healthy functioning of the skin? Simple, water helps to flush out toxins from the body which would otherwise be excreted through the skin, leading to further acne breakouts. Water also helps to keep the skin well moisturized and therefore in better condition. I personally recommend drinking at least two liters of water a day, spread out over the day and not all in one big go. If possible use a water filtration device to remove any foreign particles from the water which may have a negative impact on your health.

Green tea is one of the most amazing drinks out there because it has so many health benefits. The catechins (a type of antioxidant) in green tea will help to keep your skin healthy and looking good. Also, they will help flush out toxins in a similar way to water which leads to improved skin condition. A number of other health benefits have also been linked to green tea such as reduced risk of throat cancer, reduced body-fat percentage and a lower risk of developing gingivitis. Whilst loose leaf green tea is better quality it is also quite inconvenient so I recommend using organic teabags.

Another one of the easiest ways to treat acne at home is to increase your daily intake of vitamin A. This is an essential nutrient for correct, healthy skin functioning and carrots are an ideal source of Beta-Carotene (which is closely related to vitamin A) that will help boost your vitamin A levels. To prepare a carrot juice (for one person) take five fresh carrots. Remove the ends, wash and peel them then juice using a juicing machine (these can be purchased at kitchen appliance stores or large department stores) Remember to only have carrot juice on alternate days because too much Beta-Carotene will literally turn your skin orange.

By using these three "wonder" treatments regularly you should notice a huge improvement in your skin and a reduction in the number of acne breakouts you have. The best part about them is that all three are totally natural and don't involve any dangerous chemicals which may cause damage to your body!

Acne displays itself on the face, back and neck. Acne doesn’t start on the face, neck or back though. The basis of this begins inside the human body. Ultimately, the root source goes back to the pituitary gland, which produces hormones, which in turn release chemicals that effect others cells throughout the human body. Of such effected are the sebaceous glands.
Some areas controlled by the Pituitary Gland are:
1. Basic human growth
2. Blood Pressure
3. Functions of sex organs
4. Water regulation
The basic problem of acne occurs within the Sebaceous glands where an oily substance called Sebum is secreted. Sebum is made up of fat and dead skin. Sebum is produced when the sebaceous glands break down and separate.
Sebaceous glands can be found in hair-covered areas and non haired areas. These glands are found over most of our body with the exception of some places. The oil produced also lubricates the hair in order to prevent drying and damaging. Sebaceous glands open up to the hair follicle or to the pour of the skin itself.
Sebum, when at normal levels, is supposed to:
1. Protect skin from bacteria
2. Keep skin hydrated
What creates or triggers the acne effect?
1. Increased Sebum levels by over active Sebaceous glands often referred to as seborrhoea.
2. Sebum and dead skin clog pores
3. Hormone imbalance – increases level of Sebum
4. Walls of hair follicles bursting
Types of Acne that can occur:
1. Acne Vulgaris
2. Acne Nodule cystic
4. Acne Whitehead and Blackhead(called Comedonal acne)
3. Acne Scarring
Active ingedients of the Burdock are arcigen, calcium, chlorogenic acid, essential oil, flavonoids, iron, inulin, lactone, mucilage, polyacetylenes, potassium, resin, tannin, and taraxosterol.
Lets look at Inulin:
1. Does not increase blood sugar, benefit to diabetes condition
2. soluble fiber – easy on colon
3. May help lower cholesterol and glucose
Polyacetylenes:
1. anti-inflammatory properties
Iron
1. Blood Builder
Again Burdock root is proven to purify the blood and remove the toxins out of it, as well as treat skin problems. One issue we deal with may be found in the liver not functioning properly in detoxifying the blood giving way to unhealthy skin. Not to mention the need for the digestive tract and kidney to function proper.
I found it amazing that when I felt good, I looked good. My body inwardly feels healthy. My digestive system is working as should. The reduction of toxins and the healthiness of the skin has given way to a reduction in bacteria as well. I know that food has been disputed as a cause for acne but I encourage everyone to look again as being a contributor.
I will suggest this. What happens if we feed the body too much of something it already produces naturally, causing an imbalance? Your body may produce more oil, secrete more sugars, naturally. What we eat may become triggers as the body finds ways of discarding things it cannot digest, and or treats as a toxin. This is just a theory in a way, as that I am not a doctor just an experienced acne individual.

How to Use Acne Face Wash to Treat Acne

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves.  Antibodies are rushed to the site of an injury in order to protect us.  When it comes to acne infections and pimples, the same exact principles apply.  When your acne flares up, your body sends white bloods cells to the infections to combat the infection and mend the injured area. This process can lead to acne scarring, leaving you wanting to know how to get rid of acne scars.  Here are some tips:

Different Types of Acne Scars

Not everyone is the same, and therefore some people's skin will scar easier than others.  Those people may be able to get pimples and still have scar free skin due to faster healing.  When examining acne scars, there are two different kinds:  Scars brought on by the forming of more tissue, or scars caused by a loss of skin tissue.

Keloids are a type of acne scar that are formed when the skin no longer has collagen.  This, in turn, causes extra collagen to be produced in order to counter the lack of it.  Another similar type of acne scarring caused by additional tissue forming is hypertrophic scarring.

Depressed Scars - There are various types of depressed acne scars.  Some of the more popular ones are soft scars, macular scars, depressed fibrotic scars, or ice-pick scars.  When acne cysts fill with oil, bacteria, or puss, they will continue to expand until they rupture.  This process attacks the skin around the area.  You body then sends white blood cells to repair the area, causing skin around the cyst to collapse, leaving a scar.

Be careful when choosing which acne scar treatment you want to choose.  be sure to weigh the pros and cons of each type of treatment, and go with the one that is best for you.  Common treatments include dermabraision, micro-dermabrasio, skin surgery, skin grafting, and laser treatments.  On occasion, Keloids will be treated by the injection of mild steroids.

In the daily facial skin care regimen, washing the face is basic. To have a clear face rather than acne, choose the appropriate acne face wash and wash your face regularly. The following tips will help you to your way in achieving a clearer face and skin.
First, select the facial wash that suits you because this is the most essential part in the skin care regimen. In choosing your acne face wash, always look for a non-comedogenic one so it will not block your pores and then lead to acne. And it’s safer to use non-scented facial wash to make sure it won’t cause skin irritation. If your purpose in washing your face is just to stop acne breakouts, better use a facial wash with salicylic acid that helps in preventing bacteria from staying on your skin. Discard any facial wash that results to an oily face and uneasy feeling. You should feel fresh and relax whenever you use your facial wash.
Now, just right before you touch your face on the washing process, wash your hands first with any antibacterial soap. This would ensure that not anything on your hands would go to your face. Then use warm water as you splash it on your face to make it ready for the facial wash. A pea size of the acne face wash is the minimum amount needed in washing your face. Gently apply it while rubbing it on the essential part of your face beginning from the cheeks. In rubbing your face do not over do it for it may result to redness and further skin irritation. Do not scrub! The skin on your face is more sensitive compared to the skin on your body. After half a minute, rinse your face with cold but not freezing cold water. For the finale, pat dry your skin with a clean towel just for your face.
Remember, never use facial wash with beads or other contents that feel coarse when applied on the skin. And most especially avoid loofahs and other things for scrubbing, just like what was mentioned in the previous paragraph, the skin on the face if more sensitive.
Proper face washing does not mean over washing. As you often wash your face, the more natural oil it produce and in turn too much oil lead to acne formation. Just do it at least two times a day. This would finally make your face softer and smoother every time you wash your face.
